One of my favorite sets in this year’s SALE-a-bration catalog is Darling Donkeys; it can be used to make so many whimsical cards. Any I’m not the only one – take a look at some of the fun creation on Pinterest. I had time to play last week and came up with some cute ideas for my Facebook Live. Click here to watch it if you missed it, or if you want to watch again to see how I made the first card below. As an added benefit, it’s not sideways like the Live I did the week before…so embarrassing…
I had a lot of fun designing these cards, the donkeys have such cute faces. Our Stampin’ Blends are just perfect for coloring; I used a different color set for each card. The recipe for the first card is shown below all the cards. Let me know if you want the recipes for the other cards.
Join me and my friend and upline Kathleen Hopperstad for a Virtual SALE-a-bration Open House! We will be demonstrating cards, showing product, giving away door prizes and answering your questions.
We will be doing the presentation on Sunday, February 21st at 2:00 p.m. We will be sending out make-n-take packets to the first 20 participants that RSVP. Please RSVP to me at email@example.com no later than February 14th so we can mail your packets in time for the event. The cost is FREE!
It’s finally 2021 and I’m hoping that it’s going to be a big improvement for us all socially – I’ve really missed face-to-face contact with my family, friends, co-workers and of course all my stamping friends.
One of my new year’s resolutions is to use social media more to get my creations out there as well as connect with people. I’ve been a little sporadic in the past posting on this blog, my Stampin’ Up! website and my Facebook and Instagram pages…hopefully I can stick to it this year. I posted my first Facebook Live of the new year last week to show off some cards using the Enjoy the Moment stamp set. I thought it was going so well, until I looked at my computer to make sure the Live was displaying and saw that I was sideways…ugh! Oh well, I moved things around so people could see, but think I need some more practice. If you want a good laugh, click here to check it out.
The pandemic has not put a damper on my stamping purchases and I’ve kept up with outfitting my craft room with all the cool new stuff that Stampin’ Up! has to offer – I have a large pile of new stamps/products in my room. I’m going to present a new one of these stamp sets each week in my Facebook live as well as try and post the cards here. If you braved watching the link above, you’ll recognize the cards below. I made these using the stamp set Enjoy the Moment. I didn’t like it much when I first saw it, but as with many stamp sets, I saw all the beautiful creations by other stampers and had to buy it. Its a great set for masculine cards. The recipe for the first card is noted below – if you want to know anything about the others, shoot me an email.
The strange year continues….last weekend, Stampin’ Up held a virtual convention. Kathleen, my upline, came over and we sat – socially distanced – in front of a big monitor and watched all the presentations and classes. It was a little weird. But, as always, Stampin’ Up! did a phenomenal job and they came through with a great experience; tons of new products, new ideas and, of course, fun!
We got a sneak peek at the upcoming January – June catalog and all the incredible offerings for Sale-a-Bration! …and we all got to order some of the new product to play with! Now, I can’t show you anything from the new catalogs, but I can show you a couple of the cards that we were able to make from the kits we preordered. I can’t give you the recipes yet, just the sneak peek!
Take a look at the darling ladybug embellishment on the card above and I can tell you that this all comes in a suite that includes a dragonfly punch! Once I get my preorder, I’ll be playing and posting more pictures so you can see what else is coming.
My next post will be a little something different. I haven’t posted in a while because I had a summer/fall project that I finished just a little while ago. I have some pictures of that project I want to share with you.
Well, I posted my first Facebook live today – I was so nervous! It started a little rocky because my screen was sideways when I first launched, so I restarted and the rest went well. Click here to watch if you want. I’m glad I’ve got that under my belt and I will definitely be posting more. Thanks to all of you who participated and showed me hearts and support – I appreciate you!
I promised to post a photo of the card on the site and list all the dimensions and elements, so here goes.

Hope you are staying healthy and safe. As always, happy stamping!!
I’m not a girly-girl. Never have been. I lived in jeans and t-shirts and played outside all day long when I was a kid (until the street lights came on, of course). I hated make-up, fingernail polish, dolls and anything pink…
Well, a few of those things have changed as I’ve gotten older, however, pink is still not a go-to color for me for much of anything. I surprised myself, however, when I sat down last weekend to design the cards for my upcoming card classes. I love the new Forever Greenery Suite; there are so many beautiful, coordinating elements. But when I pulled out all the materials to create a cool, green, summery card, things took a different turn. And, in fact, the card came together really, really fast. The sentiment “Love & Laughter Forever After” started it off and I just kept going. And guess what….it’s pink!
Along with pink, I used gold and vanilla with vellum paper as a pretty background. You know when you create a card and you’re pretty happy with the design, but other times, you create something you really love? Well that’s the case with this card. I think it turned out to be stunning. Now if I only had a wedding coming up! The recipe for the card is below – so please contact me (or click the link to my store on the right) to order the supplies for this card so you can work on your own stunning creations!
And if you need the new 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! catalog, let me know and I can pop one in the mail to you.
Stay healthy and safe and, as always, Happy Stamping!!
Well, I just had to jump on the masked pig bandwagon… I’ve seen so many darling cards made with this retiring set as they relate to this weird, stressful, terrible, ‘sometimes ha-ha and sometimes not’ funny time in all our lives. I sent a similar card to an elderly widower family friend and he actually called me just to say thanks; he said it was a bright spot in an otherwise boring day that was running together with all the other days. I challenge you to do the same thing – reach out to anyone. You just never know who needs a pick-me-up…
This set doesn’t come with the saying “…Stayed Home”, so I just printed it out. It’s not the exact same type face, but it looks okay (much better than the handwritten version I attempted). The materials list is below if you want to make one of your own. He’s just so stinkin’ cute!
Remember, the current annual and Jan-June mini catalogs retire on June 2nd so if there is anything you want be sure to place your order right away. Click on the link below for the items that are still available (some may be sold out).
And, of course, the new Stampin’ Up! catalog launches on June 3. If you haven’t ordered from me in the last 6 months, email me and I’ll send you a catalog. It’s a great time to have a hobby as a stress-reliever!
Well, I hope this post finds you safe and healthy. We are still doing our part to shelter at home; looks like I’ll be working from home for a little while longer, then we’ll be back on-site in a staggered schedule. I’m looking forward to being out of the house more – I miss people!
Special shout-out to my friend, Karen. I hope everything is okay, dear friend, safe travels and I’ll be thinking about and praying for you.
The 2020-2021 catalog comes out soon (YAY!!) and I’ve had a sneak peek. Okay, more than that…I’ve had the opportunity to pre-order a few things. The Forever Greenery Suite was one of those things – b..e..a..utiful!. I will get my UPS delivery next week, so I have to wait for my new toys before I can show you anything.
However, in my last post, I promised pictures of my garden. So in a way, I am showing you some ‘real’ forever greenery. This is my other hobby – it used to be a chore, but in the past couple of years it’s become my seasonal sanctuary. It’s the perfect stress reliever and so rewarding when you can see how your hard work pays off. It’s a quarter of an acre perennial garden with 11 different varieties of hosta. Who knew there were that many options! It’s been a work in progress making it my own; this spring I have added some new hydrangeas, a few columbine plants as well as bee balm. And I’m excited to say – due to no skill on my part – I have a bunch of milkweed spouting up. I really hope that along with the other flowering plants I’ve added, lots and lots of butterflies and bumble bees come for a visit.
I did play in my craft room during the rainy day yesterday, so I have a couple new cards to show you, but I will wait for future posts. I will, however, tease you with the cover of the new catalog. If you’ve ordered from me in the last 6 months, you’ll get your catalog in the mail, so keep an eye out for it.
The Stamparatus. A tool that I know so little about so each time I use it, I learn something new. I know I’m behind the curve a bit, that pesky full time job keeps getting in the way of playing with all my stuff. Well, I had a few minutes Thursday night and popped into my craft room to create a Thank You card. I’ve seen a number of similar techniques to the one on this card, but I’ve never tried it with the Stamparatus. Well, Best. Tool. Ever.
This card came together SO quickly using the Stamparatus. I hardly had to think at all. The recipe is below, but this is one of those cards that’s pretty easy to figure out just by looking at it. I used the Ornate Garden Suite which is an early release from the 2020-2021 catalog. Sooo many beautiful new products in the catalog. If you have ordered from me in the last 6 months, you will be receiving a catalog in the mail when they are released!!
Click the link below for more information about the suite (when you order, please remember that my name has changed to Kelly Duncan).
It’s been raining all day, so I’m taking time away from my garden (look for pictures of how that’s coming tomorrow!) and pulling out my favorite sets – some retiring, some carrying over. Maybe you’ll see a bunch of cards in another post later this week!!
Take care everyone – stay safe and as always, happy stamping!
