Happy almost summer! The weather finally is turning lovely and I’m seeing all my neighbors outside again. What a blessing! And how wonderful is it to get out into the garden and play in the dirt. I just love this time of year.

I’m still a few weeks behind getting my cards posted from my Facebook Lives, so here’s the next one…

The next technique I demonstrated is called Spotlighting. You can use any type of stamp for this one, although it works best for line-art images that can be colored. After stamping the image on the paper, I selected a section of the image that I wanted to highlight. I used a square punch to punch out the image and colored the image using the Stampin’ Blends. I layered that piece with a coordinating piece of card stock and popped it up over the original image using dimensionals. Click here to see the demonstration from my Sweetpea Stamping Facebook page. You can also see the recipe for the card below.

The other 2 spotlight cards I created are a little bit different. Instead of leaving the background image black and white, I colored the entire image. In the first card below with the dandy lion from the Garden Wishes set, I used the stitched rectangles dies to spotlight the center of the image. On the Celebrate Sunflower card, I actually cut 2 pieces of white card stock in different sizes, layered, stamped and colored them before layering the smaller piece on the Early Espresso card stock. This version gives the card a whole different dimension.

I hope you are able to try this technique for yourself – it’s easy and beautiful!

If you need a catalog, let me know and I can put one in the mail to you. If you want to browse the electronic version, the link to the online catalog is on the right. If you want to place an order, make sure you designate me as your demonstrator and use the May hostess code – PY4PXJB6.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Partial Die Cuts

Well, I am waaaaay behind in getting my cards posted…. The last time I posted was mid-April, so I have 3 weeks worth of cards to post. I promised in last week’s Facebook Live that I would get them all posted this past weekend, alas it was so beautiful and I spent both Saturday and Sunday in my garden. I have so much to do out there, I’m torn between my craft room and weeding…and yes I do enjoy weeding.

Anyhoo, below are the cards from my April 14th Live Partial Die Cuts. This is a technique I don’t do very often, but it gives fun dimension to your cards…plus it’s pretty easy. I used the Sunflowers Dies for the card below and the sentiment is from the Celebrating Sunflowers set. I won’t go into all the details here on this technique, but you can click here to watch the demonstration on my Sweetpea Stamping Facebook page. The material list for the card is below.

I made 2 other cards using this technique one with the Dandy Wishes Dies and the other with the Hydrangea Dies. The Hydrangea card was a bit harder to put together since I used the full die (instead of the partial die) on a gate fold design. The full die didn’t work exactly as planned, but I thought it still turned out pretty.

Remember the new catalog is now available to order from – click the link to the right and take a look. If you need a copy, please let me know and I’ll pop one in the mail to you.

Thanks for stopping by. I’m hoping to get the back-log of the cards from my Facebook Lives over the next day or so. I also hope to get my internet fixed so the picture isn’t blurry so I can resume the Lives next week.

Enjoy the warmer weather and Happy Stamping!
