We have been having a beautiful spring here in Minnesota, except of course for this weekend (typical for fishing opener and Mother’s Day). I’ve been using that warm weather as a perfect excuse to get away from my “sheltering-at-home” work space and work in my garden. I am way ahead of where I usually am at this point in the season. I’ll post a picture this week, once I get my Mother’s Day flowers planted – hopefully we are past the potential freeze warnings!
Even though it was a bit cold and rainy today, I still played in my “garden”; the Ornate Garden Suite. Since tomorrow is Mother’s Day, I wanted a special card for my wonderful mom. I had the picture of what I wanted in my head and it came out better than I planned – I love when that happens. Once I stamped and colored the background flowers, I stamped/embossed them again and made the colors a bit brighter. I fussy-cut the flowers and popped them up using dimensionals to give the card a bit more texture. I think the Ornate Layers Dies are so beautiful, they frame the flowers perfectly.
My mom still puts my artwork on the fridge – I love that so much!
It’s supposed to be a cool week, so I’m planning on playing “in the garden” again and will post my creations.
Stay safe and healthy everyone. And, as always, happy stamping!
Kelly
