My Stamping Opener class is coming up this Saturday, July 20th from 8:00-4:30 and I promised a sneak peek of some of the projects we would be doing. The morning will be spent learning some fun techniques. Below is teaser #1: this is Project #1 for the day-long event.
Teaser #2: This is Project #2 that we will also be completing in the morning. It’s a fun new technique with fun new Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper.
There is still plenty of room if you want to join us – just let me know no later than Wednesday, July 17th if you want to attend or click here to go to the meet-up class page to register.
I’ll post another teaser tomorrow evening, so stay tuned!

I’m on vacation this week enjoying the beautiful summer with my sister our families have gotten together every year for the last 18 years at the same spot in Wisconsin. It’s lovely and so very relaxing for everyone – especially now that the kids are older and don’t rely on us for their entertainment, only the meals :). <sigh> wish they’re lasted longer.
Even though I’m by the pool, I still wanted to share this beautiful card I made. I was part of an online stamping retreat a couple of weeks ago and learned this accordion fold. I didn’t have the paper they used in the retreat so I pulled out the new Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper and the Inspiring Iris stamp set and designed this card. This paper really does all the work for you – it’s so beautiful!
I’ll add the recipe for the card when I get back to my computer.
Dont forget July Bonus days! For every $50 you spend in July you get $5 coupon code to spend in August.
Well I’m headed back to the sunshine – the lazy river is calling me!

June 21, 2019
It’s a beautiful Friday afternoon in June and I’m sitting on my screen porch looking at my garden (see photos in previous post) and enjoying the mild temps…so relaxing after a busy week at work. I was lucky enough to pick a lovely Friday to take a vacation day – they have been few and far between this spring. Summer officially starts today, so I have high hopes that the weather will turn a bit warmer and less rainy. One can hope…
I’ve spent the last couple of weeks pulling together my July newsletter. Included are new product that’s available in the 2019-2020 catalog, like Stampin’ Up! Storage and cling stamps (a fav!), PLUS on page 2 is a class list for July and August. I’m most excited about my “Stamping Opener” class on July 20th. It’s like the fishing opener, but inside with lots of food and crafting fun…okay not really like the fishing opener, but its meant to celebrate the opening of the new SU catalog year. It’s a full day class (8-4:30) that will be chock-full of new product and techniques. Click on the link below to download the newsletter. If you are interested in signing up for this class, click here.*

June 20, 2019
…good or not, it is what it is. Now I’m back and hoping to have more time to spend here.
I’ve recently been blessed with the option to quit my part-time job. While I will miss the folks I worked with for the past 3 1/2 years, it is so nice to only work my full-time job and have more time for the things I love, like gardening and stamping. I’ve shown pictures of my back-yard before – yes the deer are still eating my hosta and bird seed – but I’ve had so much more time this summer to keep ahead of the weeds (well, for the most part) and focus on making some changes that I’ve had rolling around in my head for so long. I’ll post some before/after pictures later this summer, but for now, I’m just excited to see all the green.
The spring has also been inconsistent – weather-wise. Which has given me some valuable stamping time. Our summers are so short in Minnesota, I feel guilty spending any of it inside when it’s nice out.
Stampin’ Up! brought an OnStage event to Minneapolis in April and I got a pack of the Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP as a gift. To be honest, I wasn’t too impressed at first. I just thought the color combination was a bit weird. Well, I started playing and came up with the following card. I selected a retired sentiment (sorry – it’s Big Wishes from last year’s catalog), but the rest of the card contains current materials. See below for the recipe. I’m really happy with how it turned out…and I’m a new fan of the Mosaic Mood DSP!!
Well, as I seem to mention a lot, my plan is to post more often. I’m hoping with my new-found free time that I will be able to do that. I’ll be posting my July newsletter tomorrow – look for my July and August classes. I’m so excited to be able to start hosting classes in my house again!
And in more than one way these days if you live in the Midwest. We’ve been unseasonably cold up here in Minnesota this January. I know, I know…I can’t or shouldn’t really complain because I choose to live here, but brrrrrr, even I find it too cold and I love winter.
I got my first of a few packages with the new offerings from the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs last week and I had time to play a little today. It took me a long time to dig out and clean up after the fall craft sale season, so it feels good to be able to stamp what I want to stamp instead of filling craft sale inventory, I think this new Cool Treats Bundle (#145181) is just really sweet and lends itself to so many cute ideas. I thought it screamed for some rich pastels reminiscent of sherbet.
I get another package in the mail tomorrow and I hope to do some more playing and posting this week. Keep an eye out….
Also, I have posted my upcoming winter classes – check out the calendar on the right side of the page. I would love to have you join me at an upcoming get together! I’ll post some photos for the classes this week as well.
Happy Stamping and stay warm!!

There are never enough hours in the day…. I love this new suite, but I just don’t have any amount of time available to sit and crank out all the card ideas I have floating around in my head. I was able to pull together the card below in between a stamping class and car-pooling duties this afternoon. I think it turned out simple and clean. The stamps lend themselves well to be used as an accent to the card along with the washi tape. And the heavy navy blue baker’s twine give it a nice finishing touch.
Keep an eye out for more Floral Boutique cards in the very near future – I’ve got tons of ideas!
