January Cards

Over the holidays, I finally had time to clean my craft room.  There’s still quite a bit to go, but at least it gave me some space to get out all my new toys from Convention and the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs.  It’s so great to play with new things – gets the creative juices flowing. For my January card class, I designed the cards below using all my new stuff.

Happy Stamping!

I’ve been just swamped with non-stamping stuff since I got back from Stampin’ Up! OnStage…bummer. The holidays are such a busy, stressful, joy-filled, food-filled, and family-filled time of year.   There has been a lot of grown-up work stuff thrown in there and I haven’t been able to play with any of my new toys – I’ve been having a lot of withdrawal symptoms. You know the signs….

The holidays are over and the Christmas decorations put away (well, mostly), so I took the time today to pull out all the beautiful swaps that I got from all the talented SU demonstrators I met in Orlando.  Here is a sample of a few of them (I note the demonstrators name if they provided it on the card):

That’s just a few of the swaps I got. I didn’t have time before convention to make that many swaps, so I didn’t have that many to trade, but I really don’t need that many.  I got some great ideas with the cards I received.

Now that it’s a new year, I hope (really, this time) to be able to post more often.  Later this week, I will post the cards I designed for my January class – all of them new sets with the Sale=A=Bration and the Occasions catalogs. Don’t forget that for every $50 you spend you can get a free items out of the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  Contact me if you need the catalogs or go to my website here for more information.

Hope to stamp with you soon – Happy Stamping!

Day #3 2018 Stampin’ Up! Convention

It’s the last day of the 2018 Stampin’ Up! OnStage event <sad face>, but it has been so much fun to be in Orlando for (first) our week-long family vacation, then (second) a 3-day event with Kathleen and 6,000+ of my best stamping friends.

I got to go on stage today along with about 190 other gals who attended OnStage (there were 549 worldwide who hit the 15-year mark since March) to celebrate our 15th year as Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. Hard to believe it’s been that long!

I made it across without tripping or doing anything else foolish.  Thanks to my upline, Kathleen, for taking this picture.  Next time I want to be up there for a title advancement or other achievement – I’ve got some big goals that I’ve got to start working on!

I’ll be sharing some of the swaps I got when I get home, so stay tuned.

Happy Stamping!

Day #2 2018 Stampin’ Up! Convention

It’s a little dark but there are 6000+ ladies (and a few men) here who love to do what I do and share their creativity through stamping! It’s quite a thing to see all these folks together in one room – and loud, too!

So fun to get so many new ideas and tools. Hopefully I can remember them all and pass them on to everybody when I get home.  There’s more activities tonight – can’t wait to see what they have in store for us!

Happy Stamping!

Day #1 Stampin’ Up! OnStage 2018!!!

Florida in November – I am NOT missing the cold and snow back home.  We had a wonderful family vacation before convention started today.  Seven whole days with just the 5 of us, I wouldn’t trade it for anything; lots of giggling, teasing, park-hopping, sunshine and eating, eating, eating.  We had our fill of Harry Potter, of course, at both parks and experienced the new Avatar ride at Animal Kingdom’s Pandora site. Best. Ride. Ever.  (Sorry Harry). So sad to see them go yesterday, it was a bit lonely for the few hours I was alone.

But now its time for Stampin’ Up! Convention 2018!!  Kathleen Hopperstad, my upline, got here last night and the event started bright and early this morning. Not a great picture below – you can’t really see the stage, but we are really close and had a great view of the day’s activities.

Hard to believe it’s the 30th anniversary and I’ve been around for 15 of those – how time flies!!  I’ll post more tomorrow, I just wanted to get some of my photos posted.  Stay tuned!!

…And as always, Happy Stamping!

This Little Piggy

I know I’ve been absent for a while…I seem to keep doing that.  Periods of high-activity,then……..crickets. I’m going to try and stick with the high, or at least moderate activity this fall and winter.  We’ll see how that goes.

Fall means change… change in weather, wardrobe, TV habits (read football… SKOL Vikings!) and back-to-school.  Sadly, this is the first year in 21 years that we don’t have a kid at the bus stop :(. Our youngest started college this fall and the house is so quiet. I miss him so much, but know he is enjoying this new phase. I’m having a little trouble planning smaller meals and not listening for the front door to open late at night. However, I’m not missing the piles of shoes right in front of the door and the endless laundry.

I do find that I’m having a little more time to stamp… So here’s what I’ve created lately:

I love the This Little Piggy Set… My Mom and I have an ongoing joke about pigs (long story), so any chance I get, I send her a card with a piggy on it. It just makes me smile.  I created this card for my August card class, I’ll post the other cards later this week. I think using the leaves from Sheltering Tree as the pig pen background turned out really cute! And I didn’t even mind fussy-cutting the pig….

So, since I am a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I have to do a bit of selling here, too.  The 2018-2019 Holiday Catalog is now available! Click HERE to go to the website to check it out or send me a note and I’ll put one in the mail to you. There are a ton of darling stamps and accessories!

Well, thanks for stopping by.  Have a great fall and hopefully I’ll stamp with you soon!

Birthday Surprise!

I got my first Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalog order this week.  The Tutti-Frutti Suite was my favorite (although it was hard to narrow it down); I ordered a number of items from this suite and got the Tutti-Frutti Cards and Envelopes for FREE!  I just love Sale-A-Bration, I mean, who doesn’t like free stuff!

I have a rare weekend with nothing planned – it’s such a nice calming feeling to know that I don’t have to be anywhere the whole weekend. So I spent most of the day today in my stamp room doing a bit of cleaning and a lot of stamping. I found the box/card project idea here on Pinterest and loved, loved, LOVED it!  I made a number of Christmas-themed versions with darling paper ornaments in the box for clients at my *real* job.  They turned out really cute and the ornaments looked so sweet nestled in the little box (see a pic here). Soooo, with that idea as my guide and my new Tutti-Frutti Suite in front of me, I made the project below. It just makes me smile!!

The box looks so sweet with the tiny little strawberry on top and the Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon as the box closure. I haven’t decided yet what to put into it – maybe some chocolates or a handmade trinket.  This obviously isn’t a card for mailing, but perfect for a hostess gift or a place card gift for dinner guests.

Here’s a list of all of the products that I ordered from the Occasions catalog that were used in this project: Fruit Basket Bundle, Tutti-Frutti Designer Series Paper, Tutti-Frutti Adhesive-Backed Sequins. Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon, and remember the Tutti-Frutti Cards and Envelopes were free!

If you need a Occasions or Sale-A-Bration catalog to see this Suite and all the other incredible products, please contact me through this site or my Stampin’ Up! website.

In closing, there is actually one place I have to be….in front of the television to watch the Minnesota Vikings beat the New Orleans Saints on Sunday – SKOL VIKINGS!!

Happy Stamping everyone!!

Happy New Year!

Once again, I’ve been away for a long time.  Simply just too busy. You know the saying…never enough hours in the day.

I have a few resolutions I’m working toward this new year I want to share  – I’m hoping if I make them public, I might stick with them….peer pressure!?!?

  1. Post once a week on my website.  I’m going to attempt to have new card pictures and ideas to post, but sometimes I may just do a brain down-load or promote Stampin’ Up! specials….
  2. Send birthday cards to my family and friends.  After all, I have enough cards  – or the supplies to make them – in my stamp room.  I really have no excuse to not keep this resolution.
  3. Here’s an original one…Get. In. Shape.  It’s been a fall/winter without any exercise. That’s gonna change once the tree is out and the treadmill is back in tomorrow.
  4. Dust. ‘Nuff said.

There we go – it’s in writing, so now I gotta follow-though!

There’s more detail to the number 2 resolution.  My plan is to set aside more organized time in my craft room and create new things (maybe dusting will have to fall off the list – ha!).  I have a number of left over projects from old classes laying around that keep pulling me away from letting the creative juices flow….it’s like my brain tells me I have to finish those projects first before I can start a new one. I’m going to try and ignore that and give my hands a chance to play.

That said, I have a class this Thursday (1/11).  Below are photos of projects we will be doing, so I have had a chance to “play” a little.

I always get requests for masculine cards of any kind – and they are always a struggle for me because I don’t have a plethora of guy stamps. I got the Tree Rings stamp last fall and finally pulled it out of my stash.  I visualized a pretty simple card and this is the result – easy and classy!

I need to build up my stash of birthday cards (back to resolution #2), so the next card was designed with that in mind.  Again, nothing too complicated, but it turned out pretty.

And finally, I can’t claim design credit for the final project – I found it HERE on Pinterest – but I just had to copy it for a sweet valentine treat.  It fits 2 chocolate nuggets just perfectly.

Let me know if you plan to attend the class this Thursday.  You can find more information HERE or HERE.

And finally, there’s the all-important business updates.  It’s time for the new Occasions catalog and SALE-a-Bration.  It’s an exciting time in the Stampin’ Up! year.  I’m going to stop this post now because it’s gotten much longer than I planned.  I will post more about the promotion opportunities in a few days.

Looking forward to stamping with you soon!

Hello There, Bear!

I’ve been MIA for a while, I’m sorry.  Life just gets in the way sometimes and not always the way you want it. I have been stamping, but not very much. ….and I have really missed it.

Soooooo, my stamping room needed a good cleaning – the spiders were getting more use out of it than I was – I finally got that done last week. Once things were put away where they were supposed to be (well, mostly), I pulled out a few of the items I purchased from the new catalog, plus a few old favorites, and designed the card below.  I think the new stamp set A Little Wild is so darling.

This was one of the 3 cards I created for my July monthly card class. I’ll post the other 2 later this week. I had 3 new ladies attend as well as a couple of returning stamping friends.  I was so happy to meet some new stampers and blessed to have some stamping friends back again – I missed you, ladies! I think they enjoyed all the cards we made.  I heard some nice comments when they got to this one. I mean, who doesn’t like a cute little bear.  My favorite part are the bumblebees! I love to stop when weeding the garden and watch the bees bumble from one flower to the next – they are just so…bumbly!

Just so ya know, the bear is actually a tag! Here’s the inside – thought it went perfectly with the bear looking at the bumble bee on the front. 🙂

I have to put a little Stampin’ Up! business in here, too.  Bonus Days are back for the month of July! For every $50 USD you spend July 1–31 (before shipping and tax), you’ll get a $5 USD Bonus Days coupon that you can use August 1–31.  Cool, huh?!?  Call me or visit my website at http://kellystamper.stampinup.net/ to place your order before this deal ends!

Hope you enjoy the post for today – I’ll hopefully be online and posting more often. Trying to get back to the thing I love to do…sharing my love of stamping!

Happy Stamping Everyone!

You’re Cool!

And in more than one way these days if you live in the Midwest.  We’ve been unseasonably cold up here in Minnesota this January. I know, I know…I can’t or shouldn’t really complain because I choose to live here, but brrrrrr, even I find it too cold and I love winter.

I got my first of a few packages with the new offerings from the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs last week and I had time to play a little today.  It took me a long time to dig out and clean up after the fall craft sale season, so it feels good to be able to stamp what I want to stamp instead of filling craft sale inventory,  I think this new Cool Treats Bundle (#145181) is just really sweet and lends itself to so many cute ideas. I thought it screamed for some rich pastels reminiscent of sherbet.

I get another package in the mail tomorrow and I hope to do some more playing and posting this week.  Keep an eye out….

Also, I have posted my upcoming winter classes – check out the calendar on the right side of the page.  I would love to have you join me at an upcoming get together!  I’ll post some photos for the classes this week as well.

Happy Stamping and stay warm!!
